NOT A HANDOUT...BUT A HAND UP!

The vast majority of the working population earn too much to receive aid, and to top it off, they have at least twice as many bills as most.

Not only do we make exorbitant medical insurance payments that nobody else has to worry about, but then we still have to pay the medical professionals for the services not covered by that insurance.

If you suddenly find yourself in the "middle class" scenario, you earn too much AND too little to receive any tax breaks. The result can be almost half of your paycheck completely hacked off. After medical insurance and taxes, many working folks only see 1/3 of their gross salary left for all the bills of which they usually pay the FULL amount, since no discounts apply.

Many working class people have to pay for childcare while they are away at work...another expense often required of those that must continually toil to provide. Only the divorced party that chooses to work must provide child support, and rightfully so...but let's please never forget that they ARE the one working to support...those that don't work, don't pay. The worker is also the one deprived of the quality time we all deserve to spend with our children...and, to top it off, must always bear the negligent parent stereotype.

More often than not, the working population must pay all court filing fees and cover any other legal expenses necessary...not to mention they are paying for the rest out of their tax dollars.

After all is said and done the worker must now provide food on the table without the assistance of an "EBT" food card that many others may qualify for.

...the list really does go on, and on, and on!

...but my main point is this:

---I have NOTHING AT ALL against any type of aid for anyone in the world who needs it, especially where it concerns children.
---I have NO PROBLEM AT ALL personally providing that help through direct efforts, taxes, charities, etc.
---BUT, the FACT OF THE MATTER is that EVERYBODY needs help sometimes...and often times NOBODY NEEDS IT MORE THAN THE WORKER!

Now, I'm not personally in need of help at the moment...that's not what's going on here...and I probably wouldn't ask for it if I did. Currently I'm getting by just fine...but there have been times in the past where I was in terrible financial peril due to the great demands placed upon me as a worker.
There have been many times that I could not even afford to pay for travel to get to work!...and I KNOW that I'm NOT the only one!

...I have personally seen and met MANY WORKERS who desperately needed...NOT A HANDOUT like many look for...but a HAND UP! ...just to get to work sometimes, or even to provide groceries for their hungry children! YES, WORKERS HAVE HUNGRY CHILDREN TOO!

Now...to those who are currently blessed with aid, which I am well aware IS NOT ENOUGH ANYWAYS...if you are ever GREATLY blessed in your life by an increase, please don't forget the worker...I pray that you may find it in your heart in some way to give back to the working population who is in need and "HELP ME HELP YOU!!!" I'm already currently doing everything in my power to make sacrifice for those in need, but there may eventually be a time when I will once again need a hand up, and I earnestly hope there will be one to..."HELP ME HELP YOU!

TO ANY FELLOW WORKER WHO HAS EVER BEEN IN NEED:

May I exclaim to you that NOBODY should understand the plight of the working class more than those in it! If you are currently in a time of need, or a crisis...my heart goes out to you. I wish I could provide help for EVERYBODY out there who genuinely needs it...and I DO when I CAN!
But the fact remains that the worker deserves help just as much, or more in my opinion, as anybody else...AND THERE NEEDS TO BE A SOURCE FOR THAT HELP!
....so what I propose, is that there needs to be a WORKERS FUND...there needs to be a WORKERS ALLIANCE where workers can band together!

THOSE WORKERS WHO HAVE COME OUT OF HARDSHIP NEED TO CONSIDER GIVING BACK TO THOSE FELLOW WORKERS WHO JUST NEED A HAND UP!

THOSE WHO HAVE ALWAYS BEEN WELL OFF...BLESSED THEIR ENTIRE LIVES...SHOULD CONSIDER HELPING THE ONLY PEOPLE WITHOUT HELP...THE WORKERS!

...just think about it

...many people know what's going on...BUT NO ONE REALLY TALKS ABOUT A SOLUTION.

I see charities EVERYWHERE for EVERY OTHER CAUSE IN THE WORLD!
...but I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE FOR THE WORKER IN NEED!

LET'S BAND TOGETHER>>>LET'S DESIGN A PACT>>>AND I PLEDGE TO BE THE FIRST CONTRIBUTOR!!!

...right now, I do not yet have an infastructure...but I have been thinking about this for a LONG TIME, and I'm sick and tired of just thinking about it.

Just leave some comments...let me know if there is anybody else out there who feels the way I do...or who disagrees...either way, let's have a discussion. I'm well aware that I have a lot to learn.

THE EMPLOYMENT SITUATION -- MAY 2011

Nonfarm payroll employment changed little (+54,000) in May, and the unemployment
rate was essentially unchanged at 9.1 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics
reported today. Job gains continued in professional and business services, health
care, and mining. Employment levels in other major private-sector industries were
little changed, and local government employment continued to decline.

Household Survey Data

The number of unemployed persons (13.9 million) and the unemployment rate (9.1
percent) were essentially unchanged in May. The labor force, at 153.7 million, was
little changed over the month. (See table A-1.)

Among the major worker groups, the unemployment rates for adult men (8.9 percent),
adult women (8.0 percent), teenagers (24.2 percent), whites (8.0 percent), blacks
(16.2 percent), and Hispanics (11.9 percent) showed little or no change in May. The
jobless rate for Asians was 7.0 percent, not seasonally adjusted. (See tables A-1,
A-2, and A-3.)

In May, the number of long-term unemployed (those jobless for 27 weeks and over)
increased by 361,000 to 6.2 million; their share of unemployment increased to 45.1
percent. (See table A-12.)

The civilian labor force participation rate was 64.2 percent for the fifth
consecutive month. The employment-population ratio remained at 58.4 percent in
May. (See table A-1.)

The number of persons employed part time for economic reasons (sometimes referred
to as involuntary part-time workers) was essentially unchanged in May at 8.5
million. These individuals were working part time because their hours had been cut
back or because they were unable to find a full-time job. (See table A-8.)

In May, 2.2 million persons were marginally attached to the labor force, about the
same as a year earlier. (These data are not seasonally adjusted.) These individuals
were not in the labor force, wanted and were available for work, and had looked for
a job sometime in the prior 12 months. They were not counted as unemployed because
they had not searched for work in the 4 weeks preceding the survey.
(See table A-16.)

Among the marginally attached, there were 822,000 discouraged workers in May, a
decrease of 261,000 from a year earlier. (These data are not seasonally adjusted.)
Discouraged workers are persons not currently looking for work because they believe
no jobs are available for them. The remaining 1.4 million persons marginally attached
to the labor force in May had not searched for work in the 4 weeks preceding the
survey for reasons such as school attendance or family responsibilities. (See
table A-16.)
